- Description
- Daniel P. Smith is an award-winning journalist and has made a habit of writing about Chicago, its criminal landscape and the hearts and minds of those confronting the city’s vices, fervently subscribing to Nelson Algren’s poetic ode to Chicago: “Like loving a woman with a broken nose, you may well find lovelier lovelies. But never a lovely so real.” Mr. Smith, a lifelong Chicagoan and UIC graduate, is the author of On the Job: Behind the Stars of the Chicago Police Department (Lake Claremont Press, 2008), a project he is currently adapting for the stage.
