Interviewing Illinois Film Office Managing Director Betsy Steinberg was quite intriguing and enlightening, She shared a wealth of information about the films and TV series shot here in our beautiful city.

One of Ms. Steinberg’s primary responsibilities and biggest challenges is to create partnerships with those around the city and state that can help build an appealing atmosphere and environment to attract major Hollywood movie makers to Chicago. Due to her diligent work, Chicago has experienced a film revival in large part to a tax bill the state of Illinois passed to give filmmakers a 30 percent tax break on production costs.

Ms. Steinberg has been with the the Illinois Film Office for six years and has done a remarkable job on marketing our city to Hollywood studios and independent production companies.
