Fashion Find of the Week: Dark Chocolate Nail Polish
During my all-too-frequent virtual trips to online boutiques and retailers, I often find pieces so fabulous, they absolutely demand to be shared. So, in addition to passing them along to my beloved clients, I wanted to let you in on the stylish fun, too...
This week brings a trend we can all dip a toe (or finger) into, and at a fraction of the cost of last week's Fashion Find of the Week... I'm talking about Essie's slightly sinful, deliciously dark new nail color for Fall 2010: Little Brown Dress.
In recent seasons, nails have gone from oft-overlooked, uninspired and ubiquitous(see "Ballet Slippers" and"Mademoiselle") to obsessively trend-driven accessory of choice (see Spring's "Lilacism" and Summer's many shades of "greige"). A quick mani in the season's hottest shade is the quickest, cheapest, and lowest risk way of referencing a new trend, or setting a trend all your own.
I love Little Brown Dress for its ability to render nails a bit dangerous (at first glance, it almost looks black) andits universally flattering shade (it actually looks great on pale fall and winter skin). It's an update to last fall's wildly popular Wicked, which was a similarly dark shade, but with blackberry tones.
And, with Halloween near, doesn't it remind you of your favorite chocolate treats?
