Last Minute Beauty and Style Secrets

We all have secrets for looking the part, while we are busy being the part. Below are my favorite last-minute presence savers in Chicago.

Thread Away
Keeping my eyebrows where they need to be is no small feat. Thread Away does an amazing job and they accept walk-ins.

Accessorize at 5 East Superior Street
When I find myself one accessory short of the perfect ensemble, I hit Accessorize on Superior. Accessorize is a last minute life saver for having exactly the bag, earring, neclace or wrap that complete's the look without breaking the bank.

Nail Spa at 1781 North Clybourn Avenue
Can you say GOOD cheap mani/pedi? Don't blink or you'll miss it. Yes, it is clean and Yes, they are friendly. Eda is my favorite technician.

MAC
This makeup oasis is no secret, but it is also a great place for last-minute makeup applications. There is a $50 product purchase minimum, but the glamour is "free". There are counters in every major department store, and standalone locations on Oak and Armitage

Terri Wojak for the day-of facial.
There is this amazing facial that Terri Wojak offers at True Skin Care Center, where she provides a low impact facial that give you a glow FOR the evening. I'm not suggesting a facial for every night out, but here is one that you can get and not look like you are healing for 48 hours.

Dr. Jonith Breadon
For anything from hair loss and moles to scarring and uneven skin Dr. Breadon is a great aesthetic dermatologist.

Xochil Hererra for Restyling
No time to find a new dress sometimes means that I'm better off wearing what I'd got (kind of). Xochil Herrera gives old duds a new look. It is as easy as that. Did I mention she does alterations too?

Lori's
Shoes. Shoes. Shoes. Need I say more?
I still periodically find myself lost for a shoe-shine option.
