Makeup Lessons from New York Fashion Week
I asked fashion stylist Jessi Sheehan to cover the hair and makeup looks from New York Fashion Week and share them with TCW fashionistas.
Overall, she reports, the hair and makeup during Fashion Week was quite plain: simple and very tonal.
Many neutral colors for the eyes, lips and cheeks, along with very soft, yet sultry eyes, nude lips and pink or salmon sculpted cheeks were seen on the runways. The makeup seemed more of an afterthought. That was not true for everybody, but much of the color, if any, was seen on the lips or nails.
Hair was mostly down and "undone," bedhead inspired. There were no styled blow outs, soft waves or even silky straight-ironed looks. The look was air-dryed, as if the models had done, or not done, the styling themselves.
