Women in Wine Go Online

Dr. Lucia Albino Gilbert, a professor of psychology and counseling at Santa Clara University, headed a very exciting project ; a resource for women in the wine industry titled,womenwinemakers.com. Finally, there's a collective place for women interested in wine and those working in the industry to share information in the predominantly male business. Part directory, part educational and part networking, the not-for-profit site will be updated regularly and help carve out a respite for the women trying to make their mark in wine.

Wines & Vines reported that the site promises to publish a book and aims to expand outside California to include women in wine in Oregon and Washington. As I embark on an exploration of Washington wine country later in August, I'll be sure to use the site as a resource and report back on the power women working in Washington.
