Cava & Flowers: A Perfect Pair

As the wedding season sets in, it’s time to plan the details for your friends and family. It’s fun to be the one to select the wine, often my role, but to incorporate the wine into the floral arrangement was especially unique. When preparing for a bridal shower or engagement party, my mind goes to bubbles. As the weather warms up, Cava is one of my sparkling wines of choice.

I had the pleasure of spending a morning at the floral shop Epoch.Floral, where owner Mike Hines took us through a mini-course on arrangement centered around a gorgeous bottle of Anna de Codorniu Cava. We tasted both the Rose, a blend of 70 percent Chardonnay and 30 percent Pinot Noir, the classic Champagne grapes and the Brut NV (non-vintage). These are lovely and affordable wines with the freshness of citrus and just the right acidity for a brunch affair.

Take a look at the gallery to see how it all came together and let me know if you have any questions. I’m glad to guide your sparkling wine selection for your next event. Happy Spring!
