Charles Tillman Charity Event

The Charles Tillman Cornerstone Foundation is on a mission…

On Wednesday, June 5, Chicago Bears cornerback Charles Tillman hosted the second annual Celebrity Pro BOWLer Tournament at Kings Lanes, Lounge & Sports in Rosemont. Past and present Bears players were on their game bowling for charity raising over $160,000.

Attendees included Matt Forte, Major Wright, Tim Jennings, Shea McClellin, Craig Steltz, Alex Brown, Patrick Mannelly, Johnny Knox, Adrian Peterson, Chris Harris, Rashied Davis of the Detroit Lions, former pro basketball players Antoine Walker, Kenny Battle and Jitim Young, and retired professional football players Jarrett Paxton, Anthony Parker, Marques Sullivan, Anthony Adams, Bryce Fisher, James Loving, Ray McElvoy and Jason McKie.

Founded in 2005, the Charles Tillman Cornerstone Foundation has assisted over one million children in the Chicago area by providing resources ranging from financial assistance for hospital expenses, fulfilling sports-related wishes, and gifts of many types to provide entertainment for children during extended hospital stays. Originally the foundation was run by Mr. Tillman, until he and his wife, Jackie, had a daughter named Tiana who needed a heart transplant in 2008. Ms. Tillman shares, “Following our experience in the hospital and seeing first-hand how other families were struggling financially, I became more involved with the foundation and continue to serve on the production side in several ways.” Holding various fundraisers on an annual basis, the Foundation continues to support its main mission – helping those in needs.
