Charitable Chicago Bears cornerback, Charles ‘Peanut’ Tillman, strikes again…
On Thursday, June 12, Mr. Tillman hosted the third annual Charles Tillman Celebrity Pro BOWLer Tournament at Kings Bowl in Rosemont. Past and present Bears players were on their game, bowling for charity raising over $118,000 for the Charles Tillman Cornerstone Foundation.
Attendees bowling with Charles Tillman included a mix of current and former Chicago Bears: Rashied Davis, Isaiah Frey, Kelvin Hayden, Lamarr Houston, Demontre Hurst, Tim Jennings, Johnny Know, Shea McClellin, Ray McElroy, Jim McMahon, Sherrick McManis, Craig Steltz and C.J. Wilson.
Founded in 2005, the Charles Tillman Cornerstone Foundation has assisted over one million children in the Chicago area by providing resources ranging from financial assistance for hospital expenses to fulfilling sports-related wishes to providing entertainment for children during extended hospital stays. The foundation was initially run solo by the football star until he and his wife, Jackie, had a daughter named Tiana who needed a heart transplant in 2008.
“Following our experience in the hospital and seeing first-hand how other families were struggling financially, I became more involved with the foundation and continue to serve on the production side in several ways,” explains Ms. Tillman. Holding various fundraisers on an annual basis, the foundation continues to support its main mission: helping those in needs.
