Detoxification: Fast and Simple

foot bath detox

Detox…then ‘re’-tox to detox?! So goes our lives.

With over 6,500 pesticides, fungicides and herbicides piling up in our water supply and clinging to the non-organic foods we consume, topped with 20,000 chemicals we cannot metabolize and rid our bodies of, our total toxic body burden is at an all time high!

The Columbia University School of Public Health reports that 95 percent of cancer is caused by compromised dietary choices and environmental toxins. According to the Environmental Protection Agency (really?), the average body is slammed with 210 micrograms of plasticizers (toxic phthalates) every single day.

What to do? Well, here are a few proactive options! Assess your toxic load? Nix those everyday stressors? (Fire your boss!) Eat only organic? Say no to anything in plastic? Sleep 8.5-9 hours per night? (Good luck with that!) Have your water analyzed? (Are you getting what you’re paying for?) OR, sweat! Do colonics! Change your diet! Do a 30-day cleanse – or perhaps a gall bladder or liver flush.

Personally, I prefer the Ionic food detox bath. Sit back, relax, soak your feet in warm sea salt water and let the detox ‘show’ begin. The Ionic foot bath eliminates toxins, heavy metals, yeast and Candida from your lymphatic system, liver and kidneys, and cells and skin. Your skin is your largest eliminative organ. Toxins hopefully exit through your feet, armpits, the palms of your hands, and the top of your head. The Ionic system uses an ‘array’ and sea salt to activates an electrolyte reaction, which varies depending on the users, acidity/alkalinity. The color of the water changes as you detox, denoting where your toxins have accumulated.

Normally the presence of negative ions in the body helps to rid you of toxins via urination, defecation and sweating. So if you drink diet, sugary, caffeinated or alcoholic beverages in abundance, OR consume a highly processed dead food diet, OR do not drink enough water daily, nor sweat, your toxic load will generally be higher than it should be. The goal is to do two 30-minute sessions for five weeks.

Please note: This is not advised if you have an implanted, electronic medical device, such as a pacemaker; if you are pregnant or nursing; are currently undergoing radiation or chemotherapy; have open wounds on your feet; or for children under 8 years old.
