Gwyneth Paltrow is heading to the Windy City this summer…
The Gene Siskel Film Center of the School of the Art Institute of Chicago (SAIC) will present the Renaissance Award to Oscar Award-Winning Actress Gwyneth Paltrow on Saturday, June 15, at the Ritz-Carlton Chicago. SAIC President Dr. Walter E. Massey will perform the honor of presenting the award to Ms. Paltrow. Co-chairing the event are Gene Siskel Film Center Supporters/Advisory Board Members Eda Davidman and Melissa Sage Fadim. The evening’s events will feature dinner followed by a Q&A with Ms. Paltrow that covers her entire acting career including film clips. Last year’s event honored Reese Witherspoon, whose discussion was led by Oscar Award-Winning Director Alexander Payne.
“It is a privilege to honor Ms. Paltrow, one of the most versatile actresses working today, with the Gene Siskel Film Center’s award,” says Gene Siskel Film Center of the SAIC Executive Director Jean de St. Aubin. “The diversity of characters she has portrayed on the screen, from the deft romance and comedy of Shakespeare in Love and Sliding Doors, to her heart-rending performances in Proof and Contagion, is truly impressive. Audiences have come to know Ms. Paltrow from the honesty and intelligence she exudes and we look forward to hearing about her inspirations and favorite memories when we celebrate her many accomplishments.”
The award was designed specifically for “A Summer Soirèe with Gwyneth Paltrow,” by R.S. Owens & Company, creator of the Oscar statuette.
