Halloween Indoors

These Chicago rainy dreary days of fall aren’t lending much to the outdoor pumpkin patches in the area. So instead I found a great indoor option that will keep your kids busy and in the Halloween spirit!

LEGOLAND Discovery Center Chicago, located in the Streets of Wood field (601 North Martingale Road in Schaumburg) has LEGO-themed fun for monsters of all ages! We enjoyed the fun without all the sugar with trick or treating for LEGO bricks that, when all are collected, create a special Halloween-themed model (we only collected one because mom wasn’t up to date on the whole model deal!) but now you’ll know for when you go.

The haunted Jungle Expedition was a hit with a spooky scavenger hunt for my kids ages 4-8 and my nephew who just turned 11. They counted all the spiders they could spy and entered to win some fun prizes.

We also enjoyed seeing the monsters overrun MINILAND Chicago and had fun building in the creepy creative challenge area. Everything was decorated and the fun was amped up when we went adding additional fun challenges to the fun place my kids ask to go to all the time. The best part was, my girls were able to wear Halloween shirts without jackets, and we loved seeing all of the fun LEGO themed Halloween structures. I have a photo slide show because you just can’t believe what they are able to make out of LEGOS. They say building adds to a child’s math and science skills so having the bonus of learning while playing is enough to make this mom smile.

LEGOLAND Discovery Center Chicago has over 3 million LEGO bricks and nine attractions including: Model Builder Workshop, Jungle Expedition, Kingdom Quest Laser ride, a LEGO 4D Cinema where we watched LEGO Legends of Chima and experienced some really neat water and light features. They also have a build and test LEGO Factory Tour and new this year, a really cool LEGO Star Wars MINILAND (one of my nephews personal favorites!).

If you are looking for a spooky good time I would highly suggest checking out Brick-or-Treat at LEGOLAND Discovery Center Chicago.  The Halloween fun ends on Thursday, October 31st and right now if you bring in a pumpkin you will receive $5 off admission (valid for up to 4 people) General admission is $20 but if you click here you can find special rate tickets.
