Hunger Games Jena Malone Performs in Chicago

What does Hunger Games and music group The Shoe have in common? A multi-talented young woman named Jena Malone.

Playing Johanna Mason in Hunger Games and a performing as a vocalist in The Shoe, Ms. Malone has been acting for almost two decades. And she’s only turning the big 3-0 this fall. During her career, Ms. Malone has shared the big screen with actors Harrison Ford, Jodie Foster (whom she is often compared to), Susan Sarandon and Julia Roberts, to name a few.

Stopping in the Windy City to belt out a few tunes, The Shoe (vocalist Ms. Malone and keyboard player, Lem Jay Ignacio), performed in the heart of Chicago’s Gold Coast neighborhood a the Thompson Chicago (21 East Bellevue Place). All part of an international, four-city “Thompson Hotels X The Shoe Takeover Tour” to celebrate the release of the band’s album, “I’m Okay.”

The evening began with a performance in Nico Osteria Salone, open to the public. Following, The Shoe moved and grooved upstairs to “Froines” event space for a private event with an intimate crowd consisting of 30 Chicago music, fashion and industry tastemakers. After their performance, Ms. Malone and Mr. Ignacio caroused and cavorted with the crowd while signing autographs and posing for photos. No telling what other skills and talents this young actress possesses…stay tuned.
