COMING TO THE SHOPS AT NORTH BRIDGE…
A ‘marketplace’ of gourmet Italian foods and beverages, Eataly was founded by Oscar Farinetti in Turin, Italy, in 2007. The concept caught on globally, and a U.S. store opened in New York when Mr. Farinetti partnered with Joe Bastianich, Mario Batali, Lidia Bastianich, Alex Saper and Adam Saper. Another Eataly will open in Chicago later this year at The Shops at North Bridge, 43 East Ohio Street. The Chicago store will be its largest yet.
“For us, it was about finding the right balance between location and square footage,” explains Adam Saper, managing partner/CFO, Eataly. “We treat each Eataly as a unique destination and our plans for Chicago are big – 60,000 square feet in an important commercial center like The Shops at North Bridge gives us an unmatched opportunity to create an incredible food experience.”
The plan? Seven full-service eateries, a café, wine shop, bakery and patisserie and culinary educational center. Throughout Eataly you’ll find a variety of cured meats, cheeses, fruits and vegetables, fresh meats and fish, handmade pastas, desserts, baked goods, coffees, teas, as well canned goods, sauces and a selection of housewares/books.
