Karmageddon – Is it Coming for You?

Most of us have heard of the concept of Karma. While there is debate regarding whether karma is immediate or not, most everyone agrees that its essence is, “you reap what you sow” or “what you put out always comes back” – eventually. The nice thing about karma is that it can be either good or bad – you put out good, you get back good and vice versa.

However, “Karmageddon” is much different. It is a term coined by Kyra Kyles, founder, Kyles Files, and editor at a national magazine, and it is essentially an extinction level event that occurs when an individual has done a significant amount of ‘wrong’ in their personal life or career.

Kyra’s first experience with Karmageddon was at work. A co-worker kept trying to get other people into trouble and revelled in their misfortunes. When Karmageddon came upon this co-worker, the person experienced something far worse than one could imagine. After witnessing Karmageddon, Kyra made it a point to hold her tongue when she wants to say something bad; she did not want to be on the receiving end of universal justice.

At this point, some of you may be nervous. Not to worry, here are some tips to increase your good karma and lessen the effect of Karmageddon – just in case:

  • -Stop being negative. People will not pity you when something negative happens to you.
  • -Do what’s right. Your effort will always show up for you when you need it most.
  • -Let it go. Stop carrying the weight of an unpleasant past on your shoulders. You will become a magnet of what you carry.
  • -Make amends. While you still have to answer to what you have done, making amends can actually soften the blow.

In the end, remember this: The universe keeps score, even when you don’t and regularly sends out checks and bills. At the end of the day, make sure you have more checks than bills.

So, here is myquestion: Is Karmageddon coming for you?
