Lincoln Park Zoo Ball – Wild and Whimsical

Wild but not untamed…

The Women’s Board of the Lincoln Park Zoo, along with its President Peggy White, hosted over 900 guests on Friday, July 12, at the 36th annual Zoo Ball. Amidst the savage animals, over $1 million was raised. This elegant evening was created by co-chairs Charlotte Monhart, Vasiliki Weiden and Jennifer Caruso. From décor and ambience, to food and wine to entertainment, these lovely ladies know how throw an elaborate fete.

The top secret surprise, held by the co-chairs until 9pm, was the appearance of KC and the Sunshine Band. KC and company rocked the zoo crowd with popular hits from the ’70s including “(Shake, Shake, Shake) Shake Your Booty,” “Boogie Shoes” and “That’s the Way (I like it)…uh-huh.”

Notable Chicago attendees included: Lincoln Park Zoo President and CEO Kevin Bell, Kimbra and Mark Walter, Corporate Chair Biff Bowman, Honorary Chair Barbara Higgins, Rebecca and Charlie Besser, Lincoln Park Zoo’s Board of Trustees Chairman John Ettelson, ComEd CEO Anne Pramaggiore, Cece and Tom Ricketts, Deborah and Bruce Crown, Neiman Marcus Store Manager Wendy Krimins and Public Relations Director Tina Koegel, TCW President/Publisher Sherren Leigh, Ken Norgan, Candace and Chuck Jordan, Kate Covington, Fashion Designer Borris Powell, Jason Posen; and Cancer Treatment Centers of America President/CEO Steve Bonner.
