Mirror, Mirror on the Wall. Who’s the Fairest of Them All?

Research has proved again and again that looks count in getting the job, getting the man and even getting the better deal on a car. Suffice to say, few women who look like a female version of Sam Zell would make it to the pinnacle of their profession.

Women want to look good, especially those in business, and many over 40 have their dermatologist or cosmetic surgeon in speed dial. Their medicine cabinets are filled with anti-aging creams and potions. Americans are crazed about youth, but appearing young has much more to do with other factors than just a nip here, a tuck there and an injection or two. Smart women understand that.

Think of women you know who appear ageless and define their traits. They radiate beauty. You’ll find that they take time for themselves and that they’re multi-dimensional. They explore new things, venture out of their comfort zone, and are curious. They take time to take care of themselves by fitting in an exercise program. They’re social and develop strong friendships. They’ve learned to be outgoing. They laugh. They give back. Their energy is positive; people are attracted to them. Basically they have a strong sense of self – they know who they are and are comfortable in their own skin. And as they age, they understand that they may have lost their youth, but they haven’t lost their youthfulness. Sure, they may have ‘work’ done, but so what? It may or may not be part of the mix when it comes to these wise women who move gracefully through the cycles of life.
