September is National Childhood Cancer Awareness Month

September is National Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, but did you know that Friday, September 13 is Bear Necessities Pediatric Cancer Awareness Day in Chicago?

For over 20 years, Kathleen Casey, CEO/founder of Bear Necessities Pediatric Cancer Foundation, has dedicated her life to eliminating pediatric cancer along with providing hope and support to those who are touched by the disease. Ms. Casey founded the organization just prior to her 8-year-old son, Barrett ‘Bear’ Krupa, losing his battle with pediatric cancer.

Ms. Casey shares, “Bear Necessities has been fortunate or I should say extremely blessed to have wonderful people involved from the very beginning. While we have seen changes and advancements over the last 20 years, sadly pediatric cancer remains the number one cause of death by disease in our children.” Donate and make a difference in a child’s life, please visit
