Sequin's Pink Paradise

Local boutique's new collection draws on art and travel

Inspired by the bold, colorful artword of French Post-Impressionist Paul Gauguin, Sequin's resort collection, Tahiti, is a tropical melding of colorful stones and shiny metals. The artist lived for a time in Tahiti and the South Pacific. "The collection incorporates the idea of wild beauty in a combination of color, sculpted petals and semi-precious stones," says Tara Malkovich, Sequin creative director. Frances Renk, Sequin brand developer, adds, "The pieces tie in with Chicago's love of art, culture and the vibrancy of the city."
