Fall fashion in need of assistance? Turn to a fashion expert to give yourself and your closet a makeover. Here are a few known for their discerning eye for style.

Director, The Fifth Avenue Club, Saks Fifth Avenue Chicago
Celebrating over 30 years in merchandising, Deirdre Bormes notes, “The Fifth Avenue Club elevates the art of personal service.” By appointment only, the club offers privacy and unparalleled service while perusing the latest en vogue. And her go-to designers? Chanel, Carolina Herrera, Oscar de la Renta, and Jil Sander.

Owner, The Haute Closet
April Francis launched The Haute Closet seven years ago with the goal of dressing “those who need an energetic shot of style.” She highly recommends Rag & Bone, The Row, Isabel Marant and John Varvatos, and describes her personal style as, “risk-taking, succinct and expressive.”

Stylist, Trunk Club
Michael Barkin launched the sales team in 2010 with the goal of making the Trunk Club an enjoyable place for men to shop. “Every man needs a well-fitted navy blazer,” insists Mr. Barkin. The Trunk Club employs around 50 stylists – both female and male – and will double that amount by the end of the year.

Personal Shopper and TV Personality
Tom Kolovos’ clients range from soccer moms and dads to corner suite executives and socialites. His go-to designers for female clients include Alexis Bittar, Zac Posen, Roland Mouret, Club Monaco and Max Mara. “My style is urban and eclectic with an absurd enthusiasm for a mix of high and low,” shares Mr. Kolovos.

Owner, Ladybug Vintage
Launched in 2009, this eclectic boutique offers head-turning fashion. “My clients are sophisticated women who love fashion, are familiar with high-end designer labels and like well-made, one-of-a-kind pieces,” she says. On Ms. Mesires’ list of favorite vintage designers are YSL, Pucci, Oscar de la Renta and Courrèges.

Independent Stylist
With 14 years experience, Helen Berkun describes herself as “a noncommittal rocker at heart.” Some of her favorite designers are Tom Ford, Alexander McQueen and Givenchy.

Owner, Beau Brummell Image Consulting for Men
Specializing in styling and image services for over eight years, Brittnie Romain’s favorite designer is Coco Chanel, hands down. “She was ahead of herself. If you look at the work of contemporary fashion designers today, you’ll see many of their strategies echo her designs and visions,” she observes.

Personal Stylist
With 16 years in the fashion industry, Julie Watson’s range of clients is as diverse as it gets. “We dress clients for events at The White House with as much dedication and vigor as we do for our clients who want to look great for a kid’s soccer game or an important event,” she says.

Personal Shopper, Neiman Marcus Michigan Avenue
With clients ranging from preteen to octogenarian, Jimmy Korshak believes in subtle sophistication. “I like my clients to wear clothes that shout with a whisper,” he says. Some of his go-to designers include Oscar de la Renta, Akris, Brunello Cucinelli, Jason Wu and Prada.
