“And I like large parties. They’re so intimate. At small parties there isn’t any privacy.” F. Scott Fitzgerald, The Great Gatsby
Tiffany & Co. hosted an invite-only 1920′s Jazz Age-themed party and movie screening on Wednesday, May 15, at the Gene Siskel Film Center. The party was ‘intimate’ with over 100 guests sipping Gatsby-inspired cocktails – like The Daisy and Red Berry Mint Julep – and enjoying delectable hors d’oeuvres including griddled buckwheat blini with American sturgeon caviar, prepared by Blue Plate. During the cocktail party jazz music was ablaze while models graced the room adorned in Tiffany jewels that appear in The Great Gatsby. The standout pieces included The Savoy, a diamond and freshwater cultured pearl headpiece with detachable brooch, and a brilliant necklace featuring a staggering 49.59 carat emerald-cut aquamarine…the Roaring ’20s.
Before heading into the theater for the exclusive screening of The Great Gatsby, guests were treated to boxes of truffle salted and caramel drizzle popcorn. A departing bonus – attendees received a personal photo (taken upon arrival) in a blue Tiffany & Co. frame along with a copy of F. Scott Fitzgerald’s The Great Gatsby. These ladies know how to throw a party – Gatsby style.
