Top Business Women Bringing Expertise to EWC26


What do a fragrance/lotion company, an IT company, Playboy, the Chicago Cubs and a publishing company have in common? The top women from each will be bringing her business acumen to the WBDC 26th Annual Entrepreneurial Woman’s Conference (EWC). Lisa Price, founder of the multi-million-dollar company Carol’s Daughter (lovingly named after her mother Carol), headquartered in New York, will deliver the keynote address at the 26th Annual Hall of Fame Awards Luncheon during EWC.

Ms. Price’s fragrances and lotions are a favorite among celebrities like Jada Pinkett-Smith, Erykah Badu, Rosie Perez and Halle Berry. Products are sold at nine company-owned stores, including its flagship store in Harlem. Ms. Price is the author of a book, Success Never Smelled So Sweet, and is a philanthropist who serves on the boards of the National Women’s Business Council and the Foundation for Advancement of Women Now, founded by Mary J. Blige and Steve Stoute.

She was the longest serving female CEO ever of a public company, and she was named one of the 100 Most Powerful Women in the World by Forbes magazine for three consecutive years.

Ms. Ricketts focuses much of her work with the Cubs on community and government relations and philanthropy. She is active in several organizations in the Chicago area and beyond, currently serving as the co-chair of the Democratic National Committee’s LGBT Leadership Council and serving on the National Leadership Council for Lambda Legal Defense and Education Fund, a national non-profit organization that litigates, educates and engages in public policy work on behalf of LGBT civil rights.
