Women Rock in Napa – Viader Winery

A view down one of the many vines on the hillside just under the tasting room deck at Viader Winery in Napa, up Howell Mountain. Quite spectacular!

For those of you who follow my wine escapades, you know I travel to the Napa Valley often and share my tasting adventures. This summer, and hopefully beyond, I’ll be spending even more time out in ‘paradise,’ bringing you photo galleries and tasting notes from my stops along the way.

I do follow many female winemakers, Delia Viader being one of them as she’s one of the founding female winemakers in the region. See more about her history here. I spent time touring the property and tasting through an array of these amazing wines from Viader including their proprietary Viader label and the Cabernet Franc. The wines are produced in the style of Bordeaux yet made from these hillside grapes up Howell Mountain. It’s an amazing experience both visiting and tastingViader_Proprietary_lbl_rStayed tuned for more and enjoy the photo gallery below.  And please follow and subscribe to my posts, ‘like’ them on Facebook and spread the word. I write mostly about my journeys in wine but also of wines that are readily available in Chicago, at your favorite restaurant or wine shop.

Of course, if you don’t find any of the wines I write about readily in whatever part of the country you live in, you can generally join the wine club, like the Viader Wine Club, and have the shipments come right to your door (this depends on the shipping laws in your state but it’s worth a try).  I’ll mention and link to these clubs as I take you on my tours. Happy Sipping…..
