
Grammy Award-winning musician Yo-Yo Ma will speak at the Arts Alliance Illinois luncheon, Voices of a Creative State, on Friday, May 17, at Hilton Chicago.
Chicago Symphony Orchestra Judson and Joyce Green Creative Consultant Yo-Yo Ma will talk about the importance of the arts connecting with the civic life of Illinois.
The Arts Alliance Illinois will present the first Citizen Advocate award to Fay Hartog-Levin, former ambassador of the U.S. to the Kingdom of the Netherlands. The award recognizes individuals “whose vision and civic leadership provide heightened visibility to the value of the arts.” Mayor Rahm Emanuel will serve as the event’s honorary chair with co-chairs Pamela Crutchfield and Kassie Davis.
The event will host members of Illinois’ creative, corporate and civic sectors to celebrate the strength and diversity of our state’s cultural community at what will become Arts Alliance Illinois’ signature fundraising event.
